Does anyone have any story about flirting with female dealers or cocktail waitresses leading to something more (phone numbers, dates, etc.).
Does that ever happen?
When I lived there during the late 70's, I dated some female dealers. All from downtown. Wasn't many on the strip back then.
When I am playing craps with a female dealer or boxperson, I am constantly surprised with how much off color joking goes on. I'm not put off by it, as I actually enjoy it, but I cannot help but think that this would NEVER fly in my workplace. I would be run up on sexual harassment charges so fast.......
My question to the dealers on this site, How do your employers handle sexual harassment in the workplace? Are you even warned about it? Is it permissible up to the point where a coworker complains, and then you have to watch what you say to that person?
The female dealers I have seen at craps all take the talk in stride, and some even dish it right back. My assumption is the females working in the casino sort of accept it as part of the job. Is that true?

To address the OP, several cocktail waitresses know me as the guy who gives bonus tips based on trivia questions. They can be very flirty with me, but I tend to think it is just for the tips and they actually enjoy the trivia.

It was a long time ago, but I did have one date with a female dealer. She said that most of them are perfectly capable of dishing it right back at the men, and they would never report a customer, but it is simply tedious. It all sounds the same after a while. She seemed to appreciate that I spoke about other things. She actually asked me out.

When I cashed out at the Dunes 20 years ago with 80 black chips, I had a customer pick me up. You must be a High Roller :-)

I was in there playing poker and she brought me a beer, I tried to chat her up for a few minutes, but she said, 'I'm sorry, it's really busy in here today, otherwise I'd chat because you're kind of cute.' In any event, when I left, I ended up running into her at a nearby gas station and said, 'Hey, you're the waitress that was working at Harrah's earlier.' She verified that, and I said, 'Let's see if you were being honest or just fishing for tips, here's my cell, give me a call and we'll go out sometime.'
She asks, 'What do you have going on right now?'
I replied, 'Nothing, really.'
She said, 'I'm free and hungry, do you want to go get dinner?'
I ended up following her back to Harrah's where she parked and I took her to Cedar Cafe in Parkville. We went out two or three other times, but it never led up to anything, because we were at 100% disagreement politically. Additionally, we had absolutely nothing else in common, either. You really don't want to completely run out of stuff to talk about by your third date...I will say that she suggested we go back to her place after the second date, but I legitimately did have to go to work because it was my night auditor's night off at that hotel.
For once, I am speechless.
In Vegas, and other vacation destinations, I would imagine things are worse. The dealers/waitresses know that you are only in town temporarily, while they live their permanently. Thus, if you are hitting on them, there's only one thing on your mind. I'm sure that the majority of them do not believe you are hitting on them because you want them to move back to your home and live with you while they look for another job or you support them for the rest of your lives.
All that being said, and assuming I'm talking to someone who is single, the most effective method seems to be asking them where they hang out after they get off work. Like many people, they enjoy getting a drink somewhere after work. If they're willing to tell you where that is, that's a pretty good sign. If they're evasive about it, that's a solid sign in the opposite direction.
